Parkin Archeological State Park Summer Story and Craft Hour

The Parkin Archeological State Park will host a Summer Story and Craft Hour every Thursday in June and July at 2:00 pm at the Visitor’s Center. After the story time each child will learn a craft which will include necklace and bracelet making, clay turtle making, basket weaving, butterfly crafts and more. Olly Neal Community Health Center Summer Feeding Program
Thru July 22
The Olly Neal Community Health Center in Marianna will be distributing free summer food boxes every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the next six weeks, ending July 22nd. This is a drive-thru pickup located behind the clinic. The Summer Feeding Program is open to households with school-age children, helping provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. No boxes will be available on Tuesday, July 1st due to the Independence Day Holiday. The program is sponsored by the Arkansas Food Bank.
Lee County Library Summer Reading Program
JUNE 16 – JULY 21
The Summer Reading Program at Lee County Library will begin on Monday, June 16th. All programs will be at 10 am. Additional dates will be Monday, June 23rd, Friday, June 27th, Thursday July 10th, Monday, July 14th and Monday, July 21st. Programs include Majic Mr. Nick, Animalogy, Color Our World with Amanda Smith, Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Color Our World with Hollye Bearden. If you have any questions, call 870-295-2688. Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas to Host USDA Food Distribution in St. Francis County
June 19
The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will host a USDA food distribution in St. Francis County on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 8 – 10AM or until food runs out at the Larry S. Bryant Wellness Center & Sports Complex in Forrest City. Households are eligible to receive USDA foods once per month and must reside in St. Francis County. Recipients must meet the income guidelines that have been set for The Emergency Food Assistance Program. American Radio Relay League Field Day Event

The American Radio Relay League Field Day Event will be Saturday, June 28th at Mississippi River State Park at the Storm Creek Day Use Area Pavillion. They will start setting up at about 9 AM and will operate from there until at least 5 pm on Saturday. There will be multiple stations demonstrating both digital and analog radio communications. There will be a "Get On The Air" (GOTA) station set up. This allows non - licensed individuals to operate Amateur Radio. Sort of "Test Driving" to see if they are interested.
