​FCPD Fundraiser

Thru July 31

The Forrest City Police Department is conducting a fundraiser and will be giving away an Exmark 50” Zero Turn mower. Tickets are $20 each and are available at the Police Department, Western Auto and at EZ Cash in Forrest City. The winner will be announced on August 1st and the winner does not have to be present to win. The giveaway is sponsored by Western Auto in Forrest City.

 

Parkin Archeological State Park Summer Story and Craft Hour

Thursdays 2:00 PM Through the end of JULY

The Parkin Archeological State Park will host a Summer Story and Craft Hour every Thursday through the end of July at 2:00 pm at the Visitor’s Center. After the story time each child will learn a craft which will include necklace and bracelet making, clay turtle making, basket weaving, butterfly crafts and more. Forrest City Public Library Summer Reading Program

July 2 – July 30

During the month of July, Forrest City Public Library will host “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program on Monday’s and Wednesdays. Monday’s programs will start at 4:15 pm and Wednesday’s programs will start at 10 am with programs like Story Time,  various arts & crafts, Read to Succeed with Arkansas PBS, Rethink your Drink with the St. Francis County Extension Office, Mr. Nick Foam Party and the finale will be a bubble party. City of Forrest City Community Health Fair 2025

July 12

The City of Forrest City is hosting a Community Health Fair on Saturday, July 12th from 10 am until 2 pm at the Larry S. Bryant Multipurpose & Wellness Center. If interested in participating contact Glynis Lunch, Sharren Henderson or Markita Anthony at 870-633-1315.

 

Refining Touch Behavioral Health & Recovery

July 14

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held July 14th at 11 a.m. at Refining Touch Behavioral Health & Recovery at 220 North 6th Street, Suite A, in West Memphis. The new facility focuses on metal health and substance abuse recovery. For more information call 901-428-5865.

 

Baby Sitting Class

JULY 15

A free babysitting class will be held Tuesday, July 15th at 6 p.m. at the Rock Center at 1825 East Broadway in Forrest City. Guest speaker will be Carla Busby, owner of Teach and Tend Daycare in Forrest City. The event is hosted by the Success Program.

Eating Well, Aging Well Lunch and Learn

JULY 16

Forrest City Medical Center’s Registered Dietician, Amanda Smith, will host a Lunch and Learn titled Eating Well, Aging Well at the Forrest city Medical Center in-service classroom on Wednesday, July 16th starting at Noon to 1PM. Youth Financial Management Event

JULY 17

A Financial Management for Youth event will be held Thursday, July 17th at 5:30 p.m. at the Rock Center at 1825 East Broadway in Forrest City. Guest speaker will be Greg Gibson, Market President/Director of Agriculture at Armor Bank. Attendees will learn the tools needed to build a better financial future, along with fun, practical tips on saving, budgeting and making smart money moves. The event is free and open to all area youth and will be hosted by the Success Program.

 

Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas to Host USDA Food Distributions in St. Francis County

JULY 17

The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will host multiple USDA food distributions in St. Francis County on Thursday, July 17th  at the times listed or until food runs out at the following locations: Larry S. Bryant Wellness Center & Sports Complex from 8 – 10 am, Palestine City Hall from 9 – 11 am and Wheatley City Hall from 9 – 11 am. Households are eligible to receive USDA foods once per month and must reside in St. Francis County. Recipients must meet the income guidelines that have been set for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Lee County School District Back to School Registration Day

JULY 19

The Lee County School District will hold a Back-to-School Registration Day, Saturday, July 19th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lee High School in Marianna. Free school supplies will be available courtesy of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock. School Physicals will be available on site from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Kids can enjoy a fun-filled day with bouncy houses and slides, plus refreshments courtesy of Men of Action.

Summer Blues Arts Camp

JULY 28 – AUG 1

From July 28th to August 1, the Delta Cultural Center will host its annual Summer Blues and Arts amp for children, ages 6 through 13. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday in the Miller Annex at 22 Cherry Street in Helena-West Helena. Snacks and Lunch will be served each day. The camp is free to attend. 25th Annual Jonathan Conder Memorial Golf Tournament

The 25th Annual Jonathan Conder Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, August 1st through Sunday, August 3rd at the Forrest City Country Club. Four-man Scramble - $600/Team. First place $1500, Second Place $1000 and Third Place $500. Number of flights is determined by number of entries. Entry fee includes skins game & tee busters. DRIVER'S TESTING AT TROOP D

Arkansas State Police Troop D driver's testing for Skills will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The written exam will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. For more information call 870-633-1454. You will need an original copy of your birth certificate and a photo ID. You can purchase a photo ID for $5 at the Revenue Office, this is just an option, and NOT something you have to do. Either way you MUST have a photo ID.

TRANSPORTATION FOR VETS

MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY

The Disabled Arkansas Veterans is providing transportation to area veterans from St. Francis County to the VA in Little Rock. The van will pick up veterans every Monday and Wednesday at the Shell station on Holiday Drive in Forrest City at 7:05 a.m. and the Love's truck stop in Palestine at around 7:10 a.m. To reserve a spot or get more information please call 870-932-1052.

OUTREACH PROGRAM

EVERY MONDAY NIGHT

The Oak Hill Church of God, 97 SFC 309, will host Monday Night Outreach each week, a free support group for people struggling with depression, grief, loneliness, or addiction. A complimentary meal is served at 5:30p.m., and the meeting starts at 6:30p.m. For more information, call 870-633-7331.

DRIVER'S LICENSE CLASSES

Classes for an Arkansas Driver's License are held each Thursday at the Lee County Courthouse. The driving portion is at 9 a.m., and the written exam is given at 1:00 p.m.
