You can even swap between kxjk or kbfc on either app. We are still working on Android but will let you know when that app is working as well!

EACC Community Education Summer Schedule

The Community Education and Workforce Development programs at East Arkansas Community College have announced the Summer Schedule of classes for students of all ages. The schedule offers a wide variety of unique Kids on Campus programs and camps,  Personal Interests and Senior Sage (students aged 50+) classes for adults and Professional Development classes. Lee County Library Summer Reading Program

Join the Lee County Library this summer for their Summer Reading Program. The event will continue through June and July with the library hosting several people, organizations and groups reading! USDA Food Distribution

A drive thru food distribution for St. Francis County will be Thursday, June 20th from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the Larry Bryant Wellness Center. To receive USDA foods, attendees must live in the St. Francis County and meet income guidelines bason on household size. Bring a photo ID/proof of residency. Free Medical/Dental Clinic @ First Baptist Church

Sponsored by local Southern Baptist Churches and the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, there will be a free medical and dental clinic on Saturday, June 22nd at First Baptist Church located at 507 North Rosser St. in Forrest City. Services offered will include dental cleanings, dental extractions and mammograms. A physician will be on site. Family Fun and Fireworks in the Delta

The 6th Annual Forrest City Fireworks Show will be held Wednesday, July 3rd at the FC Sports Complex! Hosted by the Forrest City Area Chamber of Commerce and the Forrest City Advertising & Promotion Commission, the celebrations will start at 5:00 pm with Children’s Activities including a Ropes Course, Rockwall, Candy Art and Tropical Slide! Free Hot Dogs donated by Boar’s Head, drinks and chips will also be available. The Fireworks Show begins @ 9:00 pm with music provided by the Morning Show Crew at 8:00 pm on KXJK AM 950 & FM 106.5 and online @ kxkkbfc.com. See you there!

 

Forrest City Public Library Summer Reading Program

The Forrest City Public Library will be hosting their Summer Reading Program for children Kindergarten through 6th grade every Monday and Wednesday starting at 10:00 am through the month of July. Every program is unique and fun with a wide variety of Adventure in Reading including live animals and backyard fun! The library is located at 421 South Washington. FCMC Auxiliary Pink Ladies

The Auxiliary at Forrest City Medical Center is seeking new volunteers. If you have a giving heart and would like to devote some time volunteering, they would be happy to have you on board. Their infamous "pink ladies", keep the hospital gift shop running smoothly, raise money for scholarships for local healthcare students, host fund raisers, health fairs, as well as help with hosting several events within the hospital. If interested in volunteering with the Auxiliary, please reach out to one of the ladies in the gift shop Monday through Friday 10 am -2 pm at 870-261-0417.

Chance for a Change

Chance for a Change will be providing after-school balanced meal giveaways Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm pick up only for children ages 2 through 18 at the Sports Complex.

DRIVER'S TESTING AT TROOP D

Arkansas State Police Troop D driver's testing for Skills will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The written exam will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. For more information call 870-633-1454. You will need an original copy of your birth certificate and a photo ID. You can purchase a photo ID for $5 at the Revenue Office, this is just an option, and NOT something you have to do. Either way you MUST have a photo ID.

TRANSPORTATION FOR VETS

MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY

The Disabled Arkansas Veterans is providing transportation to area veterans from St. Francis County to the VA in Little Rock. The van will pick up veterans every Monday and Wednesday at the Shell station on Holiday Drive in Forrest City at 7:05 a.m. and the Love's truck stop in Palestine at around 7:10 a.m. To reserve a spot or get more information please call 870-932-1052.

OUTREACH PROGRAM

EVERY MONDAY NIGHT

The Oak Hill Church of God, 97 SFC 309, will host Monday Night Outreach each week, a free support group for people struggling with depression, grief, loneliness, or addiction. A complimentary meal is served at 5:30p.m., and the meeting starts at 6:30p.m. For more information, call 870-633-7331.

DRIVER'S LICENSE CLASSES

Classes for an Arkansas Driver's License are held each Thursday at the Lee County Courthouse. The driving portion is at 9 a.m., and the written exam is given at 1:00 p.m.
