Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund Accepting Applications for Spring Semester

Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund is now accepting scholarship applications for the Spring 2026 semester. Single mothers and fathers who are seeking financial support for higher education can apply at aspsf.org/scholarships. The deadline is Feb. 1. Recipients must be pursuing an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or professional certificate. Scholarship awards range from $400 to $1,600, depending on enrolled credit hours. Funds are sent directly to recipients so they can pay for essential needs such as rent, child care, gas, utilities, and school-related expenses. A complete list of eligibility requirements and details about scholarship cycles is available at aspsf.org/scholarships. Jolly Elders To Meet

The Jolly Elders at Ridgewood Baptist Church will have their monthly meeting on January 20, 2026 at noon. Lunch will be chicken spaghetti. Bring a side dish and or dessert to go along with the meal. The program will be presented by Landon and Rita Hood. Come out and join us and bring a friend!
Lee County Cemetery Workshop

The Lee County Cemetery Association, Inc. will have a Cemetery Workshop on Saturday, January 24th at 10:00 am at St. John M.B. Church located at 1477 Lee Road 403 in Marianna. The Curtis H. Sykes's Memorial Grant received by the Lee County Cemetery Association, Inc. will be presented during the workshop as well. Refreshments will be served. The Annual Brinkley Chamber of Commerce Banquet is Thursday, February 19th. This year’s special Guest Speaker will be Brinkley native Herbert “Flight Time” Lang. Mr. Lang was a Harlem Globetrotter for 18 years and will be returning home to share an inspiring message of kindness, perseverance, and global impact.
