The 2025 Stevens Funeral Home Holiday/Christmas Decoration Contest Rules

Entries for those in our listening area will begin Monday, November 17th and last day to enter is Wednesday, December 17th. To enter the contest just submit a maximum of three photos of your outside Holiday/Christmas decorations to the First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas text-line  at 870-633-1252 with your name, city you live in and phone number to contact you. Entries will be posted on our website @ www.kxjkkbfc.com with no names, for all to view. On Thursday, December 18th anonymous non-biased judges will review all entries and determine winners which will be announced on Friday, December 19th. First Place will receive $100, Second place will receive $75 and Third place will receive $50. Our thanks again to the contest sponsor, Regan Hill and Stevens Funeral Home and Monuments. 

 

SFC Elves Project Underway

The SFC Elves, Inc., 2025 Toy Project is now underway. The SFC Elves, Inc., Toy Project is locally operated, and all toys are distributed to local children. Toys may be delivered to the following locations:

1.      Southern Furniture, 4000 North Washington, Forrest City.

2.      Beavers & Cline, 523 East Broadway, Forrest City.

3.      St. Francis County Museum, 603 Front Street, Forrest City.

4.      Forrest City Public Library, 421 S. Washington St., Forrest City.

5.      First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas - North Washington Branch.

6.      Forrest City Chamber of Commerce- 203 N. Izard St., Forrest City.

It is not necessary that the toys contributed to be new.   They should be in working order and in clean condition. Of course, new toys and monetary donations will also be welcomed. Semper Fedilis Women’s Club Thanksgiving Sack Lunch

The Semper Fedilis Women's Club will distribute Thanksgiving Sack Lunches to Children and Senior Citizens Monday, November 24th at the Warren Faupel Center in the Dawson Homes Apartment Complex at 11:30am. For more information, please contact 870-519-4931.

SFC Food Pantry Holiday Meals

NOV 27

The SFC Food Pantry officials invite anyone in need of a Thanksgiving meal to visit the pantry at 128 S. Water Street in Forrest City on Thanksgiving Day (11/27) starting at 11 a.m. Serving will continue until all the food is gone. Additionally, area first responders will begin delivering meals to the shut-in and elderly starting Thursday at 10 a.m.

 

City of Forrest City Recreation Department Chili Day

NOV 22

The City of Forrest City Recreation Department is hosting a Chili Day on Saturday, November 22nd at the Forrest City Multipurpose Center from noon until food runs out. They are also looking for gently used or new coats, jackets, and hoodies. You may also donate or help by purchasing hats or gloves. Food Drive

Forrest Citian Lisa Douglas is coordinating a food drive for those in need. She will be receiving donations from now until Sunday, November 23rd. Donations are accepted at Lisa’s Body Shop located at 209 N. Rosser in Forrest City and at the St. Francis County Museum located at 603 Front Street in Forrest City. The food will be given out on Monday, November 24th from 10 am until gone at the Museum. For more information Lisa @ 501-613-1888.

 

28th Annual Rumble on the Ridge

NOV 27-29

The 29th Annual Rumble on the Ridge Basketball Tournament will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 27th through the 29th at the Dwight Lofton Mustang Arena. Ticket Locations are Cedric Williams State Farm Office, Delta Office Works and the Forrest City Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $10 per day, $25 for a three-day pass. $8 Students K-12. Colt County Christmas

2025 Colt Country Christmas will be Saturday, November 29th from 3:00 to 6:00 at the Colt Park. Pictures with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, Christmas Carriage Rides, Gingerbread House Decorating, Face Painting, Live Music, Ornament Decorating, Food Trucks, Scavenger Hunt with Prize, Vendors and the Christmas Tree Lighting. Forrest City Downtown Community Christmas Tree Lighting

The Forrest City Downtown Community Christmas Tree Lighting will be Saturday, November 29th 4:00pm – 6:30pm at the corner of Front & Washington Streets in Forrest City. Ugly Sweater Contest, crafts, vendors, food trucks and fun. They are still accepting vendor applications for creators and makers of unique Christmas Gifts. Christmas at the William Stone House

Christmas 2025 at the William Stone House in Colt will be held on Saturday, November 29th, Saturday, December 6th and Saturday, December 13th from 10am to 3pm each day. They will also be open by appointment anytime between those dates as well. Please call 501-626-7254 to make special arrangements. Once again, they will have a children’s shopping room, Mrs. Santa’s Kitchen and a special visit by Santa from 10 am to 1pm on Dec 13th. You take all the pictures you want. Pancakes with Santa- An Off The Square and Lee Academy Booster Club Event

Off The Square is hosting Pancakes With Santa on December 6th at Off The Square, in partnership with the Lee Academy Booster Club. This event is a fundraiser in memory of Cooper Hill, and they are collecting toys that will stay in Lee County. Cooper brought smiles to so many, and they want to keep his memory alive by spreading those smiles to others. Activities include: 🎅 Pancakes With Santa – December 6th at Off The Square, a Toy drive (toys stay in Lee County), Pictures with Santa will be available and door prizes. It will be a fun, family-friendly morning.

DCC Holiday Open House and Bake-Off Competition

The Delta Cultural Center in Helena will have their Holiday Open Hose and Bake-Off Competition on Saturday, December 6th at the DCC Depot Museum located at 95 Missouri Street in Helena. Starting at 10am and free to enter and free to attend, in addition to the baking contest, visitors will be treated to musical entertainment and holiday treats and so much fun. Trophies will be awarded for the best pie, cake and a special category that includes almost anything from cookies to butter roll.
