SFC Elves 41st Annual Toy Drive

The 41st SFC Elves Inc., toy project is underway! Toys that are new or in good, working order may be delivered to five drop-off sites throughout Forrest City, which is the Beavers and Cline Law Office at 523 E. Broadway, Southern Furniture at 4000 N. Washington, St. Francis County Museum on Front Street, the Forrest City Public Library on South Washington (new this year) the First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas North Branch. Monetary donations are also accepted with 100% of the donations spent on purchasing toys. All of the project operating costs are covered by board members and volunteers. This is a locally operated toy project, and all toys are distributed to local children. Lee County Veterans Christmas Shoebox Drive

It’s time once again to remember our Veterans! The Lee County VFW and American Legion are filling shoeboxes and gift bags to uplift, honor and help our local men and women veterans. This year they will fill medium Christmas gift bags and showboxes with necessary items, a few little surprises and a Christmas card. Designated drop off locations are VFW Marianna, Armor Bank-Marianna Branch, Lee County Court House, First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas- Marianna branch and Lee County Library. Personal care items, reading and writing materials and whimsical gift items are needed and  cash donations are always accepted. They would like to have items donated by December 11th. First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas Annual Holiday Food Drive

The First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas is having their annual Holiday Food Drive! Donations will be accepted at the Wheatley Branch until December 18th. Drive-Thru Live Nativity @ Three Trees Cowboy Church

It’s that special time of year! Everyone is invited to join the magical journey through the heart of the Christmas story with the annual Three Trees Cowboy Church drive through Live Nativity! Located at 222 CR 381 Wynne, this event is free of charge and will be Saturday and Sunday, December 9th and 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. See you there!

First United Methodist Church of Brinkley Pancake Breakfast

First United Methodist Church of Brinkley located @ 404 West Ash St. will be having a Pancake Breakfast with Santa on Saturday Dec 9 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.  Bring your kiddos, big or small, in their pajamas! Enjoy pancakes, get a picture with Santa, then paint a Christmas Ornament with Mar’s Art and Nancy Henry.  Tickets at door $10.00 for first child and $5.00 for additional children.  For more information call Marlene Gwathney @ 270-2029. Christmas 2023 at the William Stone House

Christmas at the Williams Stone House this year will be featuring a Children’s Shopping Room, Mrs. Santa’s Bake Shop, Handmade Crafts, Preserves & Jellies and a special visit from Santa on Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Annual Community Christmas

The Annual Community Christmas event, "Love thy Neighbor", will be this Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Forrest City Civic Center. Free Entertainment, Toy Giveaway, Free Food and Free Pictures with Mickey Mouse and the Crew. Children must be accompanied by an adult the entire time. 

Delta Trade Days Christmas Extravaganza

The Delta Trade Days Christmas Extravaganza will be Saturday, December 9th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at the East Arkansas Community College Technology Center located at 1790 Falls Blvd. in Wynne. Storytime and Cocoa with Mrs. Claus

The PLUM Foundation will be giving away Christmas Toy Boxes on the following schedule this holiday season: Monday, Dec. 18th , 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Greater Powerhouse & Adams Temple Church located at 531 Ladino Street in Helena-West Helena. Tuesday, Dec. 19th , 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Nineveh Cathedral Church located at 600 Thompson Ave. in West Memphis. The last day will be Wednesday, Dec 20th from 3:00 pm to -5:00 pm at Nineveh Temple Church located at 208 West Broadway in Forrest City. DRIVER'S TESTING AT TROOP D

Arkansas State Police Troop D driver's testing for Skills will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The written exam will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. For more information call 870-633-1454. You will need an original copy of your birth certificate and a photo ID. You can purchase a photo ID for $5 at the Revenue Office, this is just an option, and NOT something you have to do. Either way you MUST have a photo ID.

TRANSPORTATION FOR VETS

The Disabled Arkansas Veterans is providing transportation to area veterans from St. Francis County to the VA in Little Rock. The van will pick up veterans every Monday and Wednesday at the Shell station on Holiday Drive in Forrest City at 7:05 a.m. and the Love's truck stop in Palestine at around 7:10 a.m. To reserve a spot or get more information please call 870-932-1052.

OUTREACH PROGRAM

EVERY MONDAY NIGHT

The Oak Hill Church of God, 97 SFC 309, will host Monday Night Outreach each week, a free support group for people struggling with depression, grief, loneliness, or addiction. A complimentary meal is served at 5:30p.m., and the meeting starts at 6:30p.m. For more information, call 870-633-7331.

DRIVER'S LICENSE CLASSES

Classes for an Arkansas Driver's License are held each Thursday at the Lee County Courthouse. The driving portion is at 9 a.m., and the written exam is given at 1:00 p.m.
