Fall Revival

September 11

The Redeeming Christian Spiritual Church #24 of Widener will hold its annual Fall Revival from Wednesday, September 9, through Friday, September 11. Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. nightly, and the church warmly invites all community members to attend and participate in these special evenings of spiritual renewal. 

 

Senior Center Fundraiser

Through September

The Forrest City Senior Life Center (Sports Complex parking lot) will host a weekly yard sale fundraiser every Friday throughout the month of September from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Community members are invited to shop a wide selection of items, including clothes, home decor, and much more. All proceeds from the sale directly support the programs and services provided by the local senior center.

 

FC Homecoming Festival

September 12

The Forrest City Advertising & Promotion Commission will host the annual Forrest City Homecoming Festival on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Hicky Field in Forrest City, Arkansas. Running from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the all-day event offers community fun for all ages, featuring food trucks, local vendors, a beer garden, a car show, and a display highlighting 2000–2026 Corvettes. Evening entertainment includes live music, karaoke, and a feature drone light show. Families can also enjoy the dedicated Kid Zone, complete with inflatables, games, and a petting zoo. Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the celebration of community, family, and hometown pride.

 

Family and Friends Day

September 13

Morning Star Baptist Church in Blytheville, Arkansas, will host its annual Family and Friends Day Program on Sunday, September 13, 2026, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Under the leadership of Pastor Frederick Clay, the church invites the entire community to attend this special event, which will feature Superintendent Johnny Moore of Promise Land Church of God in Christ as the guest speaker. Everyone is encouraged to join for an afternoon of worship, inspiration, and fellowship.

 

FCPL Book Sale

September 14

The Forrest City Public Library will hold their monthly book sale, Monday, September 14th. Books will sell for $3.00 per bag and the bags will be provided. Plus, you choose the books.

 

NEA Food Bank Distribution

September 17

The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will host USDA food distributions in St. Francis County on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at two locations: the Larry S. Bryant Wellness Center & Sports Complex in Forrest City from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and Palestine City Hall from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. UA EACC Adult Education Open House

September 17

The University of Arkansas-East Arkansas Community College (UA-EACC) will participate in the statewide Arkansas’ Adult Education Open House on Thursday, September 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Workforce Center on its Forrest City campus (1700 Newcastle Road). During the event, instructors and students will share insights on free programs designed to help community members achieve their educational and career goals, including GED® preparation, English Language Acquisition (ELA), Bridge to College basic skill refreshers, and Integrated Education and Training for earning industry certifications. FC HOF Events Announced

September 18-19

The Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame has officially announced the 2026 Hall of Fame induction class. Celebratory events are set for Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, beginning with a members-only lunch, a public display walkthrough at the Lofton Mustang Arena, a $20 dinner at the high school cafeteria, and recognition during the Mustang football game at Sam Smith Stadium, followed by the 2nd Annual FCA Hall of Fame and Rumble on the Ridge Golf Tournament the next day. Dinner tickets can be purchased through the Forrest City Chamber of Commerce, the high school principal's office, Cedric Williams State Farm Insurance, or Delta Office Works.

 

CRSC Annual PRCA Rodeo

September 18-19

The Crowley’s Ridge Saddle Club will host the 2026 Charity PRCA Rodeo on September 18–19 at the Wiley T. Jones Fairgrounds in Forrest City, Arkansas. Dedicated to supporting children with special needs and honoring military veterans during opening ceremonies, the two-night event will feature performances by rodeo clown T.J. Williams as well as nightly door prizes provided by local sponsors. Sponsored by the Forrest City Advertising and Promotion Commission, gates open each evening at 6:30 p.m., with the rodeo commencing at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available for $11, gate admission is $12, and children under 10 receive free entry with a paid adult.

 

Sanyo Reunion

The Sanyo Reunion will be held on Saturday, September 19, starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Ole Sawmill Cafe in Forrest City. Colt Pioneer Day

September 19

The Colt Community Development Corporation invites the public to celebrate the 34th Annual Colt Pioneer Day on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the historic William Stone House, located at 44 Old Military Road. The community festival will feature live music performances from local singers and musicians, a variety of arts and crafts vendors, and free door prize drawings throughout the day. Attendees can enjoy a wide selection of food from the snack tent—including hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, chili pies, soft drinks, and the event's famous beans and cornbread, which will also be available for carryout rain or shine. HOF/ROR Golf Tourney

September 19

The Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame and Rumble on the Ridge have announced the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, taking place Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Forrest City Country Club with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. The four-person scramble event aims to raise funds to support local students through scholarships—including the long-standing Cecil B. Twillie Scholarship—as well as academic and athletic camps, leadership programs, and more. Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $2,500, with commitments requested by September 7 for full recognition. Billy Ray Day

Vendors from all over are invited to secure booth space for the inaugural 1st Annual Billy Ray Day, set for Saturday, September 19, 2026, on Hill Street in downtown. Event organizers are welcoming a wide variety of booth displays, including food vendors, local farmers offering fresh fruits and vegetables, and arts and crafts creators. PCPC 75th Anniversary

September 20

Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church warmly invites the public to attend the 75th Anniversary Celebration of its sanctuary on Sunday, September 20. Originally built by devoted congregation members and community volunteers, the sanctuary was completed and dedicated in September 1951. The landmark event will feature a morning worship service, followed by a celebratory luncheon and program. The guest speaker for the occasion will be Rev. Pastor’s Anniversary

Jericho Church of God in Christ will celebrate the 16th anniversary of Pastor Lincoln Taylor Jr. and First Lady Paulette Taylor on Sunday, September 20, at 2:00 p.m. at the Forrest City Civic Center. The special service will feature guest speaker Pastor Troy Whitman of Anointed Temple Church of God in Christ in Brinkley, Arkansas. Flu Shot Clinic

September 22

The St. Francis County Health Unit will host a walk-in flu shot clinic on Tuesday, September 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 413 North Division Street in Forrest City. Provided through the Arkansas Department of Health, the annual vaccinations come at no out-of-pocket expense to patients, though attendees are asked to bring their insurance information if available. Health officials strongly urge everyone to get vaccinated annually to protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death caused by the influenza virus. Wheelchair Fundraiser

October 3

Community members are rallying to support local resident James Mefford Sr. by hosting a fundraising drive on Saturday, October 3, 2026, aimed at purchasing him an all-terrain wheelchair. The effort features a Spaghetti Dinner & Bake Sale at the Colt Community Center from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with tickets available for $15.00 in advance or $18.00 at the door alongside additional cash donations. Running in tandem with the meal is a live Facebook raffle for a Ruger American II .450 Bushmaster rifle; raffle tickets cost $20 each, and the winner must successfully pass a standard federal background check through a licensed FFL dealer prior to collecting the firearm.

 

Foreigner @ Fine Arts Center

The University of Arkansas-East Arkansas Community College will open its 2026-27 performance season with Foreigner’s 50th Anniversary Tour on Saturday, October 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the UA-EACC Fine Arts Center in Forrest City. Caring Touch Quilt Show

October 10

The Caring Touch Quilting Ministry will host its Caring Touch Quilt Show & Sale at the First Baptist Church Gym, located at 507 North Rosser in Forrest City. The two-day event takes place Saturday, October 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 11, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Attendees can browse and purchase handcrafted quilts and items made by the ministry, with all proceeds directly benefiting local outreach and care ministries.

 

Delta Special Needs Summit

The Delta Special Needs Summit, an initiative created by parents and local community leaders to support and connect families, will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridgewood Baptist Church in Forrest City. Featuring keynote speaker Renee Holmes, Director of Autism Services at the Arkansas Autism Partnership, the event aims to build supportive relationships and connect attendees with crucial community resources. Yale Hoist Reunion

Former employees, surviving spouses, and guests are invited to the Yale Hoist Reunion on Saturday, October 24, at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (507 N. Rosser St., Forrest City). The event begins with a meet-and-greet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m. dinner catered by Opa’s Smokehouse Catering. Absence Presence @ UAEACC Gallery

The UA EACC Gallery is hosting "Absence Presence," an exhibition by Palestine, Arkansas artist Alex Jumper, running through October 29th. The free exhibit features works that explore light, shadow, and transition, examining how loss and disappearance shape visual narrative through rich, layered tonal values.
