The St. Francis County branch of the NAACP will hold a Town Hall Meeting, Thursday, May 8th at 6 p.m. at the Forrest City Civic Center. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Palestine Water Utility.

Food Bank of NEA to Host Food Distributions in St. Francis County

The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will host multiple USDA food distributions in St. Francis County on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the times listed or until food runs out at the following locations: Larry S. Bryant Wellness Center & Sports Complex located at 2510 S. Washington St. in Forrest City from 8– 10 AM and then at Palestine City Hall located at 101 Higgins St. in Palestine from 9-11 AM. Households are eligible to receive USDA foods once per month and must reside in St. Francis County. Recipients must meet the income guidelines that have been set for The Emergency Food Assistance Program. AARP Hosting an Accessibility Audit

AARP Arkansas is conducting an accessibility audit on a one-mile stretch of the Delta Heritage Trail on Saturday, May 17, at Turning Point Park at the corner of Lee Street Community Center, 112 Main Street, Elaine. This free, open-to-the-public event will start at 11 a.m. with a brief training and safety briefing, followed by a walk and/or cycle. Refreshments will be provided after the ride/walk. Accessibility items such as walkers and wheelchairs are welcome. You can also bring your own bike or use the Elaine bike share program. The Disabled Arkansas Veterans is providing transportation to area veterans from St. Francis County to the VA in Little Rock.
