SFC Healthcare Coalition

July 23

The St. Francis County Healthcare Coalition will host its upcoming meeting on Thursday, July 23, at 12:00 p.m. in the Inservice Classroom at Forrest City Medical Center, located at 1601 Newcastle Road. Hosted by Sharon Martin from the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the session will focus on cancer awareness and preventive screening education. The event is free and open to all community members interested in learning more about life-saving cancer prevention and health resources.

 

Home Repair Workshop

July 25

Community members looking to gain confidence with basic DIY maintenance are invited to a hands-on home repair workshop on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Assembly of God event room on South Washington in Forrest City. Facilitated by Anita Widby, the class is designed for participants of all ages—regardless of skill level—to see, handle, and use a variety of everyday tools while learning practical techniques for maintaining their homes and tackling frustrating household fixes. There is no registration fee but those interested in attending must reserve a spot by calling 870-261-5147 to register.

 

Colt ZIP Code Day

July 25

The City of Colt is hosting the Colt ZIP Code Day Celebration on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Colt City Park. Centered on the motto "One Town. One Community. One Great Day," the event features a full lineup of live music, starting with New Revelation Worship at 2:00 p.m., Eli Adams at 4:00 p.m., and Rodell McCord & Band at 6:00 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy a hot air balloon, family-friendly activities, and an extensive “Food Truck Alley” offering diverse local eats from vendors like Opa’s Smokehouse, Bison Burgers on Wheels, Cajun Express, Vernie Nell’s Sweet Tea, Courtside Chill and LOT’S more.

 

Pastoral Installation Service

July 26

New Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church on Hwy. 70 West in Palestine will hold the Pastoral Installation Service of Elder Fredrick Irby, Sunday,  July 26th at 8 a.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Napoleon Grace, Pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Forrest City. Refreshments will be served after the service.

 

Annual Choir Day

July 26

El Cannon Missionary Baptist Church in Palestine invites the community to celebrate its annual Choir Day on Sunday, July 26, at 2:00 p.m. Under the leadership of host pastor Charles Tate, the church extends a warm welcome to everyone—come one, come all, for a joyful afternoon of music and fellowship. Memorial Golf Tournament

Aug 1-2

The Brinkley Country Club will host the annual Romeo Short 3-Man Golf Tournament, on August 1st and 2nd. Named in honor of the late Romeo "Romey" Short—a long-time country club member and prominent agricultural leader who served as chairman of the Riceland Foods board of directors—this memorial tournament celebrates his lasting legacy in the community. Entry fees are $375 per team ($125 per person), plus an additional $20 per person for tournament extras, and the weekend's festivities will include a dinner and Calcutta following the event. 4-night Revival in Palestine

Aug 2-5

The Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palestine invites the entire community to attend a four-night revival from August 2 through August 5. Featuring guest speaker Reverend Kristi Lounsbury, the special series is titled "The What Ifs of The Israelites Exodus and Journey to the Promised Land." Services will explore the pivotal choices and faith lessons from the biblical journey, offering an uplifting environment for reflection and spiritual growth. All community members, families, and neighbors are welcome to join each evening.

 

FC Community Health Fair

August 6

The 3rd Annual Forrest City Health & Wellness Fair is set for Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Larry S. Bryant Multipurpose & Wellness Center, located at 2510 S. Washington Street in Forrest City. Organizers are currently seeking vendors to participate in the event, including health providers, fitness instructors, farmers and gardeners, community resource groups, local businesses, and family service organizations. FBC-Parkin to Host Singing

August 8

First Baptist Church of Parkin will host a family-friendly "Fun, Food & Gospel Singing" event on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 234 E Smithdale Ave, Parkin, AR. The community gathering promises an afternoon of music, testimonies, and fellowship, featuring special guest singer Robin Smith as well as music and testimonies from The Restoration House. Attendees can also look forward to a complimentary menu of fried fish with all the fixings, desserts, water, and sodas. ABC Preschool Continues Open Admission

The ABC Preschool at Lincoln in Forrest City is currently accepting applications for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. Parents and guardians looking to enroll their children can pick up and submit application packets Monday through Friday at the preschool, located at 149 North Water Street.
