As COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on the world, one has to wonder, not just when will we be back to normal, but will it ever be the same? My guess is never. Oh, I feel like life will return to a more normal feel, but this will change the way people interact with one another and business practices will be changed for generations. Some people had already started working more from home. This has forced some to work from home, who would have never considered it before. I will wager a guess that some will prefer to work in solitude. Technology has made things possible today that would have made life nearly unbearable 20 to 30 years ago. I would not have thought we would be doing even more online activity than we were, say 6 months ago, but we are.
Also, where will this social distancing take us? Will it go so far as professional sports arenas and concert venues taking out seats (like every other seat) to separate fans a little more? I know they are working as hard and as fast as they can for a vaccine for COVID-19, but that vaccine won't help with the next virus that comes along.
This is the beginning of a new era. We will make it through this. But there will be a new generation of people who will be talking about the good ole days, and it will be completely different than the days some of us talk about now.
